The Apostle Paul said that the law can be summed up with the command to "love your neighbour as yourself", (Romans 13:9).
Much of the practical outworking of loving your neighbour can be found in the initial part Jesus' sermon on the mount (Matthew 5).
'Poor in spirit' means recognising your own weaknesses and limitations. At Shekinah we want to be ultimately dependent on the Spirit of God
In working with children with special needs and their families there ought to be a daily and consistent gentle attitude of heart
There ought to be compassionate empathy for the children and their families. God wants to bring healing, forgiveness and restoration where there is brokenness.
This is written in the present continuous tense - it's ongoing! Shekinah must be there for the long term. Deep change takes time.
Those involved in this often challenging work should expect God to be working in their own hearts.
We hope the work will bring the peace of God into families and communities.
** Shekinah is NOT a church, although we hope to be connected to and supported (but by no means exclusively) by local churches
